Weekly Update 7.11.17

Year 4 Weekly Update for week beginning 7.11.17

We have had a great week back after half term!  Mrs Dowding’s class have been busy rehearsing their assembly ready for Monday.

Here’s what’s happening this week:-

Numeracy: We will be looking at written methods for multiplication and division.

PLEASE keep practicing those Rainbow Targets and times tables at home.

Literacy: We will be continuing with information texts based on Tudor Crime and Punishment.

History: We will have a visit on Tuesday from a Tudor apothecary.  The children will be continuing to prepare their group presentations.  Don’t forget you can do things at home to add to your presentations too!

Tudor Day (27th November): is fast approaching. We have a fun day of activities planned and you will be invited to come in and share our work in the afternoon. We really need some help with the workshops during the morning, especially as there are some cooking activities. Please let us know if you can help –even if it’s for an hour! Don’t forget to get your Tudor costumes ready.

Art: During the week of 20th November, the children will be making their own Tudor portrait.  If there are any parents/grandparents that would like to help, please let your class teacher know.

P.E: A reminder that children now need to bring their outdoor PE kits instead of swimming kits.  Miss Green’s class on a Monday and Miss Golland’s and Mrs Dowding’s classes on a Wednesday.

Class assemblies: Over the next few weeks each class will have lines to learn for their class assembly. This should be done as part of their homework.

Children In Need: Is on the 17th November. Children will be able to buy a headband or a wristband at the beginning of that week. Headbands will cost £2.50 and wristbands will be £1.00.

Another busy week!
