Year 4 Weekly Update for week beginning 23.01.17

Another great week of learning. The children have made huge efforts to improve their division methods with some great success – Keep learning those tables and double and halving targets!

Here’s what’s coming next week:-

Numeracy: We will be revisiting fraction work where our multiplication and division methods we have been practising will be used to find a fraction of a quantity.

We’ve completed our first Rainbow target test-please see orange books, there are also times tables tests stuck in there as well.

Literacy: We will be looking at a new unit ‘Stories from another culture’. Please try and encourage children to read a book from this genre. This week’s homework is based on the whole school target ‘Connectives’. Children have been given a connective game to play at home and it can also be found on the Year 4 blog.

Science: We will be finishing off our electricity topic – researching electricity questions and presenting our findings.

Mandarin: Reminder that Mandarin Club is now open to year 4 children. If anyone wishes to attend just pop along to Mrs Giles’s Classroom on a Monday lunchtime from 12:00-12:30pm. Ask Mrs Judd if you have any questions.

Have a lovely weekend and thank you for your continued support.
