Weekly Update for week beginning 10.10.16

We had a fantastic time at Castle Cornet, the children listened really well and learnt so much. We were very proud of them. Year 4 also enjoyed watching the year 3 Harvest in the church; thank you for the generous harvest boxes donated.  We are also blown away by the hard work and creative ideas that has gone into the Tudor Monarch homework-amazing!  Here’s what’s happening in the coming week:-

History: The children will be beginning to research what the rich and poor Tudors wore.

Numeracy: We will be learning how to use a calculator to solve 1 and 2 step problems with all four operations.

Literacy: We will be writing our imaginary character descriptions, carrying out some reading assessments and moving onto poetry.

Miss Dyke’s Class will be sailing on Friday 14th and 21st of October so swimming sessions will be back to normal. Could you please make sure children are dressed with warm clothes as it’s getting colder.

We are looking forward to the Rhubarb Theatre group performing for us on Thursday afternoon.

School council candidate presentations will take place this week (they should be no more than 2 minutes long) and then elections are on Friday.  Good luck everyone!

The children will be saying their team goodbyes this week.

Have a good weekend!
