Year 4 Weekly Update for week beginning 05.02.18

Wow! What an amazing day we had on Friday-we really and truly felt the force! Thank you to all of you who managed to come and join us, we loved seeing you there and hope you enjoyed the day. The children were focused, worked hard and were amazing teammates. Here’s a small snapshot of the day:-

Some children also requested that we put on the blog the workshops that were on offer in case they wanted to do them at home!  Please click on the link for the instructions and teacher prompts:-

Any feedback about our day is very much welcomed so we can continue to improve it-please blog, send us an email or just tell us. Children as well!

Here’s what’s coming next week:-

Science: We will be making a film about our Feel the Force Day looking at the science behind our activities.

Numeracy: We will be doing some averaging and graphs following our readings from Feel the Force Day which can then be used in the film. We will then carry on with our fractions work.

Literacy: We will be writing scripts for our Feel the Force Day films.

PE kit: As we are doing the Daily Mile we would like to suggest that days when the children have PE in the morning they can come to school in their PE kits.

Mrs Dowding’s class: Thursday and Friday

Miss Green’s Class: Monday

Please remember to pack your school uniform!

Book Week: The school will be celebrating book week during the week beginning 5th February. We are lucky enough have a visit from the author A.F.Harrold  on Thursday afternoon. Click on the link to see his website.

This will launch Readathon and on Friday 9th February children are invited to come to school dressed up as a character from a book.  For more information, please see

There will also be a book sale on Friday 9th. Children can donate books they no longer want and buy books for 50p. Money raised will go towards our school library.

Have a lovely weekend and thank you for your continued support-especially with our science!
