Weekly note 13.11.17

Year 4 Weekly Update for week beginning 13.11.17

We’ve had another successful week and the children have been working hard.  Well done to Mrs Dowding’s class on their assembly.  We are looking forward to Miss Green’s class assembly on Monday.

Here’s what’s happening this week:-

Numeracy: We will be continuing to learn about written multiplication and division.  Remember to keep working on your times tables to help with this.

Literacy: Children will be inventing their own Tudor punishment and will be writing an information text based on this.

History: Teams will be continuing to put together films about different areas of rich and poor Tudor life.  We have loved seeing some of the extra bits of work that some of you have done at home, please keep this coming in!

Tudor Day (27th November): is fast approaching. We have a fun day of activities planned and you will be invited to come in at 2pm and share our work in the afternoon. We still need some help with the workshops please as there are some cooking activities. Please let us know asap if you can help – even if it’s for an hour!

Children In Need:  School Councillors will be selling hairbands (£2.50) and wristbands (£1.00) to their classes on Monday and Tuesday.  Children are able to buy one item.  Don’t forget to bring in your pennies!  Spotty mufti is on Friday 17th November with a suggested donation of 50p or more.

Homework:  As with last week, please could children make sure they are learning lines for their class assemblies and practicing their songs.  Don’t forget that you can still be doing any extra researching of your Tudor topic to help with your film!  Mathletics, Times Table Rockstars and reading should be being done regularly too.

Have a lovely weekend!

Many thanks,

Year 4 team
