Year 4 Weekly Update for week beginning 16.01.17

The children have worked really hard this week and asked some interesting questions about things they would like to find out about electricity. A huge thank you to Mr Upham and Mr Feist who came in to talk to the children about electricity today.

Here’s what’s coming next week:-

Numeracy: We will be focusing on written division methods.

New Rainbow Targets on doubling and halving have been given out-see homework books. Also, the children have identified the times tables they would like to learn in the next few weeks. We will be testing the children on their Rainbow Targets and times tables every week.

Literacy: We will be looking at a new contraption called ‘The Teacher Pleaser’ which they will write an explanation about.

Literacy writing targets will be sent home in their homework books.

Science: We will be finding out answers to our questions on electricity and finish the ‘Get Ratty’ challenge.

Mandarin: Mandarin Club is now open to year 4 children. If anyone wishes to attend just pop along to Mrs Giles’s Classroom on a Monday lunchtime from 12:00-12:30pm. Ask Mrs Judd if you have any questions.

Sportstarz: This is cancelled next week as only 3 children have signed up. Please see the blog for information if you wish to join. http://stmartinsprimaryschool.edublogs.org/category/sports-starz/

Reading: Now the weather has turned cold don’t sit in your cars at 2:30 or stand on the playground shivering…why not come into the warmth and hear some readers? Let us know if you can help.

Please remind children to bring in a warm coat to school now that the weather has turned a bit chillier.

Have a lovely weekend and thank you for your continued support.
