Weekly note 7.11.16

We have had a great week back after half term! We have all loved seeing the Tudor food homework being brought in and the children have enjoyed tasting, reading and watching their different presentations.

Here’s what’s happening this week:-
Numeracy:We will be looking at multiplying and dividing by 10, 100 and x1000.
PLEASE keep practicing those Rainbow Targets and times tables at home.
Literacy: Continuing with information texts based on Tudor Crime and Punishment.
We have given children extra homework in literacy. Please could you practise retelling the information text using the text map and actions with your child.
History: In teams, the children will begin researching a chosen Tudor topic.
Tudor Day (25th November): is fast approaching. We have a fun day of activities planned and you will be invited to come in and share our work in the afternoon. We really need some help with the workshops during the morning, especially as there are some cooking activities. Please let us know if you can help –even if it’s for an hour!
Art: During the week of 21st November, the children will be making their own Tudor portrait. If there are any parents/grandparents that would like to help, please let your class teacher know.
P.E: Please could Mrs Karia’s class bring their outdoor kit on Fridays as it has replaced their swimming sessions.

Another busy week!

Literacy Homework Due in 09.11.16

In class we have been coming up with actions and re-telling the information text about ‘The Pillory’. For homework this week, please can children practice learning the information text. If possible could parents make a note of how many times they practiced this.

As an additional bit of homework (if you have time) the children have been given a different information text in their red homework books, and they must label the key features of it.

Have a good weekend and enjoy Bonfire night!
